Hello all,

I searched for a thread about this, but unfortunately couldn't find one so here goes;

On my desktop the shortcuts for Recycle Bin, Documents and Music do not have icons, the same has now occured with all items in my start menu, the main icons do not work but the direct shortcut icons do.

if you're using XP, go download TweakUI, and use the option to rebuild icons.

Windows Vista Ultimate with SP1...

Yeah i already have all my settings set like that, i've checked as much as i can to do with display and i cannot find anything to get them to work properly

Install this trial

Go to Edit>>>Customize Windows Icons and click on the Repair option.

Problem should be fixed.

Didn't try that but for future reference, easy fix when someone has had StyleXP Installed and do an upgrade to Windows Vista...

well, it's all in the registry, that one progie makes the key:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Shell Icons

all ya gotta do is delete Shell Icons or rename it! ;P
then, BOOM, icon's fixed (ones in registry and desktop, ect)
