I have wlm 8.5 and now have downloaded and installed the latest messenger plus live and still there is no icon when i open wlm so as to be able to setup my preference settings or personalize things the way I did when I had msn messenger 7.5 and the messenger plus 3.0. What is really going on with this new messenger plus live? It does not work.

Don't you see a Plus! menu at your contact list window's menu bar?

i've been having this problem too!
Ever since i installed wlm 8.5,msg plus doesnt appear on my wlm.The plus icon doesnt appear on my menu bar either.Previously i installed 8.1 and it works perfectly but after i installed 8.5 it doesnt work anymore.
I've tried uninstalling everything and installing again as said on http://shoutbox.menthix.net/showthread.php?tid=69388, problem2, but it doesnt work. ...can anyone help plz??

Maybe it is best for both silverd1969 and Xenowingz to tell us what files are in the folder C:\Program Files\Windows Live\Messenger. Second, does the folder C:\Program Files\Messenger Plus! Live exist? Also include information about if you have or had SweetIM or other Messenger extensions installed.

these are the files in my messenger folder, and yes the Messenger Plus!Live exists.
Nope i never did have any other extensions installed.

Hrm. Don't seem to see any msimg32.dll... Stay tuned, will try to find out why.

It looks like you don't have msimg32.dll (Loader of Messenger Plus! Live) in Messenger's folder. Before trying to download it from this post's attachment, go to Add or Remove Programs window, find Messenger Plus! Live. Click on Modfiy/Remove. Select "Repair Messenger" from the Uninstaller Wizard window and follow the instructions. This will add msimg32.dll into Messenger's installation folder. If you can't see that file in there after repairation is complete, then download the attachment and unzip it to the Messenger's installatino folder. Restart Messenger.

Note: If only you took the screenshot of the installation folder while viewing the content in list mode.

sighs...that file is alr inside e folder and it still doesnt work, even after i downloaded the newest plus version it still doesnt work.....

Hello all... not trying to hijack this thread or anything. just that i'm facing a similar problem.

On booting up, sometimes Messenger Plus live doesn't load. Sometimes i seem to dissappear when i resume from hibernation too. Still not sure why.

I have the "msimg32.dll" under "C:\Program Files\Windows Live\Messenger"

Windows Live Messenger 8.5.1302.1018

I have reinstalling Messenger Plus Live when the software is not loaded doesn't help. So its back to rebooting until it gets back.

hmm.. come to think of it.. i will go try reinstalling WLM (slow installer for 8.5 compared to earlier versions =.= very irritating) and see if it works. But i doubt it.

anyone knows how to fix this problem??? >.< i really wanna use msg plus!!
