O.P. UK Broadband + Phone line
My mum wants us to get a new broadband and phone package as we are currently with Pipex which is £30 a month for only 2MB broadband with unlimited downloaded.
The best deal i could find was on tiscali.co.uk, the £14.99 one
http://www.tiscali.co.uk/products/talk/?code=ZZ-N...EE&srccode=COD_592
It has:

    * Up to 8Mb unlimited broadband (My phone line can support about 5MB)
    * Free wireless router
    * Free phone line rental
    * Inclusive anytime UK phone calls*
    * Inclusive anytime international landline calls*
    * One off £30 set up fee
    * Keep your existing phone number

Just wondering if you guys could find any better deals?
She's prepared to spend up to £30 still, so if i could get any sky packages with phone and broadband and tv or something that would be cool also.
Thanks

Personally I'd go for BT and BT only

Everyone else I've known on other providers (Tiscali, Pipex, Virgin) has had problems and rubbish technical support.

We've been with BT since 2003 (when we first got broadband) and have rarely had problems with it that weren't caused by routing maintenance at the exchange

When they say Unlimited this and unlimited that it's utter bull. The only provider in the uk that gives unlimited everything with nothing disallowing this int there T&C is SKY Broadband. If your in there area it's Up to 16Mb for £10/month.

Also i believe you can get MAX broadband + tv & phone for 25 P/M.
No longer here.

Seconded. I've been with Tiscali, UK Online and Be Broadband.

So far "Be"  has been the most reliable and the best value long term.

I'm on the 8meg package as I could not get the full 24Meg working on my line. I'd recommend you do the same.

If you're in a cable area, get Virgin. It's more expensive, but it's faster as well.

Be have received pretty good reviews from what I've been told, but I'm wondering if they'll drown in their own popularity before long.

I'm with BT. Always have been, and probably will be until I get my own place. They do have an Unlimited policy, however heavy users tend to get their traffic shaped. This also applies to Tiscali, and Virgin. In fact most ISPs who offer "Unlimited" use this.

Note that the Tiscali package goes up to £19.99 after 3 months.

i know in australia at least the main providers seem to be rather rubbish, they might offer slightly higher speeds, or maybe better customer service but when i signed up to my isp, it was so much cheaper than any of the main providers, had decent tech support, and no one had ever heard of them.
