O.P. Future of WML Addins
Hello All,

As i understand, it seems that Addins is no more supported in WLM 9, even that i can see that Messenger Plus is still active!!!!

Can anyone explain to me the future of add ins for windows live messenger?!!

and how can i start my own add on in .NET? internet is full of articles, but all does not work for WML 9.

Thanks

Messenger Plus! Live is not a "traditional" addin like the ones you can see in the Addins tab of the Options window. It uses a different method of communicating with Messenger, by actually hooking onto it.

Unfortunately, now that Addins have been apparently removed (I didn't think they served much purpose anyway, seeing as I had to make a registry tweak to make the tab even appear) I doubt you'll be able to make an addin that way. There are probably plenty of articles out there that tell you how to hook onto Messenger using .NET, though.

Hope this helps :)

Alot, Thanks ryxdp

a couple of questions if you may please

1- Do you remember the Encarta bot? it used to open an extension to the window, is that an add-on? how can i do the same extension?!

2- can I use Messenger Plus to do the following
A- Add a bot to the user
B- if this Bot window opens, add this extension window.

Thanks a ton for your help.
