Only a very small handfull of those 2mil (which is as accurate as any other language count, BlessedGuy) have Esperanto as their native language. All the others speak it as a second language and thus will not use Esperanto as their primary communication.
And as stated before too, it is not the number of speakers in the world which counts, but the number of Messenger Plus! users which use the language as the interface language for Messenger Plus!.
So even if a language which is spoken by 60mil people in the world has only 500 active Plus! users, the language will be removed from the setup. There is nothing we can do about it, those are the rules for any translation.
Since you now created an Esperanto translation, people will be able to download it and use it. And if enough people use it, it might be included somewhere in the futur. But as said, don't get your hopes up. Chances are extremely extremely slim...
In retrespec, if only the number of people in the world who know the language would count than the chance that Latin would be added to the setup would be extremely larger than Esperanto being added as Latin is known by a lot more people (as their non-primary language).
