O.P. WMP not working
hi i just installed WMP onto an existing WLM. n the messenger to sign in and put ur password wont show up. Like its always minimized. n when i right click to sign in, it just loads and loads. i tried uninstalling WMP and WLM. but i can't find WLM in the uninstall list. i'm currently using windows 7 dont know if that effects it.

RE: WMP not working
By WMP do you mean Messenger Plus! Live? WMP usually stands for Windows Media Player, so try not to mix things up.

If you believe you're having problems with Messenger Plus! Live, you can remove it from Control Panel > Programs. Plus! also has an option to 'Repair Messenger', so you may want to try that first.

If you'd like to remove Windows Live Messenger, it's listed as 'Windows Live Essentials'.

RE: WMP not working
Ok. Well firstly the .dll method of installing skins isn't needed since Plus! has a simple and safe way of using skins.

So if you've messed around with .dll files, repairing Messenger will fix that, as it replaces all the files with the originals.

If you've removed Plus! and still having the problem, then this should really be in the Windows Live Messenger support forum.

Regarding the error message, you can try this:

This error indicates a problem with Messenger on your machine, not a problem with the service.

You may be able to quickly solve the problem by installing the following components simply by
downloading the MSI files linked following and just running them to install:

http://messenger.jonathankay.com/redir/w3rc/msvcrt.asp
http://messenger.jonathankay.com/redir/w3qfe/contacts.asp

After these are installed, try Messenger again.

See forum search or Google for more info about the error message.

Yes, Plus! is an add-on for Windows Live Messenger.
