O.P. Can you use windows Messenger features with MSN Messenger?
Hi all,

I have MSN 7.0.732
MSN Plus 3.50

A long time ago I hated Windows Messenger so I uninstalled it.

Now whenever I want to do WhiteBoard,Remote Assistance etc. It give me a message saying I dont have Windows Messenger. But I dont want it. I want to do Remote assistance etc but I dont want Windows Messenger on my PC to do it. So is there a plugin that lets me use the Windows Messenger feature on MSN Messenger without Windows Messenger on the PC?

Thanks in advance,
SonicSam(Y)

No, you need Windows Messenger on your PC to be able to do Remote Assistance, because it uses the same APIs. However you can disable Windows Messenger so that it will not be able to start up, or annoyingly have the habit of signing you on at Windows sign up in the background with no noticeable icon or anything, then it is like Windows Messenger doesn't exist, but you can still use the features of it (like remote assistance).
To do so follow the correct way in a post by our resident knowledge pimp... CookieRevised's reply to I am about to rip my hair out over MS Messanger

You are not referring to MSN Plus, you are referring to Messenger Plus! created by Patchou. MSN Plus! is a service owned by Microsoft...below are the links so you can inspect the difference
Messenger Plus
MSN Plus

Unless they say otherwise, it's usually best to assume that they are BETA testers :dodgy:...if you catch my drift :p
