There doesn't seem to be a solution for it yet, you could try this:
Uninstall Plus! (completely, remove settings too).
Reboot, login at MSN, is the problem still there? (let us know)
Now uninstall MSN Messenger and reboot.
Download the latest MSN Messenger from
http://messenger.msn.com/ and install it.
Login at MSN, is the problem still there? (let us again)
Download the latest Messenger Plus! from
http://www.msgplus.net and install it.
Login at MSN, is the problem still there? (again, let us know)

If the problem is fixed then let us know at what part the problem dissapeard. Also, try to anwser the following questions as much as possible:
Which Windows version do you use?
R.: Windows XP Pro BR
If you are on Windows XP, did you installed Service Pack 2 (SP2)?
R.: SP1
Do you have Microsoft .NET v1.1 installed?
R.: yes
If you don't or you are not sure, go to
http://www.windowsupdate.com and scan for updates. If you can't find Microsoft .NET anywhere the you already have it. If you do see it then select it and install it, then reboot and see if it fixes the problem.

Do you have any probram installed for costum windows themes, or any other program that is running on your PC that might be causing it?
R.: Uxtheme.dll modified; I will change and to test and to reinstall MSN
