Although I have never tried it,
MBM is supposed to be quite good. It was discontinued because the author couldn't get the support he needed from the motherboard manufacturers to continue. There has been quite an uproar about that, so obviously it was used by a fair few people.
Chances are, unless you have a cutting edge motherboard, your board will be supported. Probably worth a look anyway
