Yes you can uninstall Windows Messenger in add\remove programs. Then download and install
this file. Chances are this won't work, but I'm only suggesting this due to the nature of this problem...
Also a screenshot of this problem may help just so we can see exactly what comes up. (Just press print screen and then paste in some image software and save it, then attach it to a new post.
