that's not nessecairly needed for the effect though. The space is needed to split the name and the reversed email from each other; it looks better:
without the space:
  my name<moc.liamtoh@liameym>
with the space:
  my name <moc.liamtoh@liameym>

Anyways, this only works in unicode enabled OS's, like XP and Windows 2000 (and maybe other versions, but it doesn't work in Win98). It also only works with contacts who are using MSN Messenger 6.2. MSN Messenger 7 does not show the emailaddress reversed (as reported by others, didn't tested this myself yet).

Also note that when you copy/paste the character you will see nothing. The character is kind of "invisible", but if you select everything in that file posted by Phrive (by pressing CTRL-A) you sure have selected the character. The same goes for when you're pasting it into the nickname textbox in MSN Messenger at the end of your name; you wont see a character, but that doesn't mean it isn't there...

PS: The character in question is the unicode character 8238. To produce this character you simply type ALT-8238 in a textbox which has unicode support (such as the textbox in a conversation window). So in other words, if you don't want to save that file from Phrive, or you have troubles opening it:
  1. Open a conversation with someone
  2. Press ALT-8238 (to produce the character)
  3. Press CTRL-A (to select everything; thus the character you just typed)
  4. Press CTRL-C (to copy the selected parts to the clipboard (don't worry if you don't see anything selected, that's because it is a "special" character you're working with)
  5. Go to Tools > Options > Personal > My Display Name
  6. Put your cursor at the end of your display name and press CTRL-V (to paste the contents of the clipboard)
