WS_FTP is one of the best stable FTP clients, that deserve what it costs. The network will show high traffic, because you are uploading alot, it cannot handle all the connection at same time, so it keeps uploading, internet becomes slower. I suggest using WS_FTP, I never have problems with WS_FTP, and use Firefox, way more stable than Firefox.
