Beta of what? MSNM is out of beta and so is Plus!
Download newest of both:
MSN Messenger
Messenger Plus!
Now the uninstalling:
- Reinstall Plus! with optional sponsor

Totally close your internetbrowser (from systray also), you probably forgot this last time
- Go to start > controlpanel > add/remove programs
- Select Messenger Plus! and choose "uninstall sponsor only" when prompted
- Done! Now you have Plus! and no sponsor
