Patchou didn't say that the conflict could be an adware or spyware program, but he said that the conflict could be an
anti-spyware program, aka the one you used for scanning for example... Such anti-spyware programs can be very aggresive (and can cause more problems then adware/spyware itself in a way) to prevent other programs to function properly...
