I recommend that as well. At my school I can average about 300 kbps, while most other people get around 30 - 50. At home it goes about 1.5 mbps, but I also have a really fast line (8 mbps down). I really like LeechGet in that it allows you to tweak the options just right, like how many times to split the download, speed limit, etc.
