There are already a massive amount of threads about this.
No, this will not be added to Plus! as this will involve protocol manipulation. And up until now, Patchou didn't want to include anything that uses the protocol for some good reasons.
There are already
some plugins and addons which implemented these features in the past (as you can find by searching the forums).
But, due some protocol changes since the MSN Messenger 7 series, the functions you ask for are not possible anymore. That is, it is not 100% reliable anymore without interpreting and understanding the alerts (one more reason this will not be added to Plus! directly) as you can also find in many threads by searching the forums...
Nevertheless,
Stuffplug (a popular plugin for Plus!) will again inlcude some of these functions in its new worked upon version, although they will still not be 100% reliable...
