RE: ASDL routers
I think the same way as brian. It doesn't matter if its a cable or DSL modem, they get an IP address from the ISP and all the packets they receive are sended through the ethernet jack or USB output, if this is sended to a router it will give the other computers another IP, and will transfer the packets from the ISP to the computers.
I might be wrong also at this, but this is my theory.
