I personaly like my Optus Cable.

For $65 A month (Thats priced down due to Optus landline/mobile) I get 12gig on peek (12:00pm-11:59pm) and 24 gig off peak (12:00am-11:59am). Although, the new optus plans are more then that (20gig on/40gig off) but I like my 4 free months.

Optus upload is capped at 32k/s (Which has a funny story behind that.. the result was I got banned for a week after I took down a node..) which is fine for most things expect running your own webserver.

DSL can be cheaper but it is slower. The new ADSL2 lines are in most locations on iinet and are as fast/faster then cable but more pricy.
