May I suggest NetDrive?

It's something like an FTP client "without" a GUI (read below why I have enclosed without in quotes)

Actually, it's not without a GUI:
You enter your FTP username and password, and it mounts a vitrual drive.
That drive is can be accessed from "My Computer" or every program that allows you to choose where to save your file.

You can use it like a normal HDD: You can copy files from it, paste files to it, delete files from it etc...

When you open file a file, it displays a dialog saying how much of the file has been downloaded, and when you put a file in it, it also displays a dialog of how much of the file has been uploaded, including the estimated time it will take to upload/download the file, and the download/upload speed.


I use NetDrive to direcly upload the files to my webserver (thanks to dt ) without the need to first save the file to my HDD, and then use an FTP client to upload the file to my server...


And NetDrive is also free!

I use it, and I never had any problems with it

So, I highly recommend this program if you usually upload updated files to your server, but you hate having to save the files to your HDD first.
