I was already trying on a virtual machine :). Does indeed seem to be safe, sorry. Removed my original post.

Meh, my scanner is in highest heuristic so it scans for general dodgy things too. It detected as "probably unknown NewHeur_PE virus", but your story about other viruses using the same method explains it.
