could plus! both run on live 8 and windows messenger?

i use both live! 8.0 and windows messenger 5.1, and the old version of messenger plus! can be used on them at the same time. but when I update to the new live plus!, it only can service for live 8.0, so anyone can tell me how can i use plus! for windows messenger too? thanks a lot.
