O.P. My Hd is corrupted =/

Today i installed Vista Ultimate and everything seems ok til when i run it for the first time, it takes a lot of time to initialize, then i was working prefectly, but when i restarted and tried to acces to my other hd it says that was corrupted
should i have to format it?
can i recover mi files from there?
