O.P. Fonts too large in log viewing recorded events
When recording events using an xml file, the resulting recorded events display very large, as if zoomed way up. I've tried normal zooming techniques (Ctrl+mouse wheel), to see if something will reduce them, but they have no effect. I've also looked at the settings in Plus - Preferences - Messenger - Event Logging, but other than Save in a plain text file, I don't see any way to change the display.

As a work-around, I can record events as plain text. But, this is unsatisfying, since the largeness appears to be a bug (I get this problem on one computer, but not the other).

If I open the .xml files using IE7, they initially display very large, just as they do using the Log Viewer. If I reset the zoom level in IE7 to 100%, however, the fonts return to normal size.

If I edit the xml file and remove  encoding="UTF-16" from the first line, the file now displays correctly using Messenger Plus' Log Viewer.

Using:

Windows XP Pro (SP2)
Windows Live Messenger 8.0 (Build 8.0.0812.00)
Messenger Plus! Live 4.01.0.240
