I can't burn any dvd discs with my dvd-rw drive...

everything i try to burn fails at a random point during writing...

I've flashed the firmware of the drive, reinstalled nero, tried various other dvd writing packages but no luck!

any tips? any ideas what else i could try?

It reads dvds and cds perfectly... it even writes cd-rs... but not dvd-rs

EDIT: i think its screwed... writing a dvd right now and it keeps making a clicking noise, when it clicks the buffer level drops and once its done that about 3 times it fails.

new drive? recommendations? cheap is good
