RE: Live Messenger and share
You can disable Sharing Folders in Windows Live Messenger by going to Tools > Options > Sharing Folders and untick the box. You can also delete the shortcut from My Documents.
Contacts are saved, but hidden. If you don't want these files to be shown, In Windows Explorer, go to Tools > Folder Options > View > Tick 'Do not show hidden files and folders'.
