Ouch, all that care and molly coddling and I have dropped my iPod 4 feet in the air straight onto its face, cracking it on the hard concrete. One nasty line in the expensive glass screen, I felt horrified.
So I went to the Apple Store to see how much repair would cost, I knew the glass screen could be replaced manually, with places like eBay selling them for $160 with instructions to replace it yourself. I could only imagine what Apple would charge me ...
The genius bar at the store were really helpful, I found out that a cracked screen by accident is covered under warranty! 5 minutes later I had a brand new iPod Touch with the new £13 upgrade, all for free, with my warranty starting over again!
Apple Support is the best experience I have ever had, it doesn't have lots of limitations that effect the users, nor does it care about squeezing money from you. At the end of the day I got a brand new iPod where in other circumstances I would not even receive a penny as it was my own fault. I just wish I had time to take pictures ...
