this is a new feature of plus.  it happens when the amount of text copied and pasted is greater than 1100 characters (the limit for sending)

what previously happened was that the pasted text would simply cut off at 1100 characters whereas now it gets sent as a single file.

if you still wish to turn it off go to Preferences then click the "Conversations" tab at the top, then the "Formatting" tab down the left and unselect "Improve pasting operations for large text and pictures"
