O.P. Windows XP is being choppy.
I just upgraded to Windows XP from Vista Ultimate using my Dad's OEM SP1 disc. I put in a key from the interwebz but I haven't activated online yet. I noticed when I move(drag) a window it gets choppy. The CPU maxes out when I do this. It also happens while scrolling web pages (IE&FF - CPU @ 90%). I switched from my ATI PCI (Yes, PCI) to onboard graphics card and it improved a little. I have 1.25GB of DDR1 RAM, 3.06GHz Pentium 3 CPU. I have only installed my D-Link wireless driver & included connection manager; and Firefox.

What could be causing the lag/choppyness?
