As far as I know, that sound wasnt removed/changed (Happy now vac.?) And yes that's what I thought and meant from the beginning. from the latest Windows Live Messenger and is also enabled by default. Go to Tools> Options> Sounds> Contacts sign in> Make sure that "Default (contact online)" is chosen.
