O.P. self-cloning address of an added contact..a virus?

Hi,

I hope someone can give me some idea about the cause of something I experienced:

On accepting an add request on messenger I noticed that the address duplicated its self instantly in my contacts list. They looked like this:

1) name@yahoo.com
2) name

on the 2nd listing if you hover over the name you would see the exact email listed as listed in 1.

I also noticed this when this contact added themselves to my my other account via yahoo messenger.

Could this be due to malware/ virus/ spy tech?

Thanks in advance.
