O.P. Linux help....
Hey all, I burned Arch linux ISO file onto a DVD medium with Alcohol120% but it won't boot up when I do a system restart. Can someone help?

1. Did you burn the ISO to the disk, or burn it AS an ISO.
(Put the disc in the tray, open "My Computer", right click the drive and hit "Explore". If it shows up as "____.ISO" you burned it wrong, but if it shows up as a bunch of files then go to 2.)
2. You have to boot FROM the disc. Try hitting "F8" at boot, or if it lists an option on how to access the boot menu then hit it. Choose "Boot from CD" then hit any key when it says "Hit any key to continue".

I looks like it burned correctly...accept there's usually an autorun command and something.exe in the main directory (though it may be different for Linux things...I'm not sure - I'm not a Linux expert).

By the way, what does the "isolinux" contain?
Also, where did you get this copy of linux...?
And you should also check in your BIOS, to start booting from CD before going to boot from Harddrive...

I fixed it, I had to F*** with the BIOS
actually I need to partition my hardrive!But I don't know how...

umm, how long iwill it take, it shouold say hter %age of the: partition making or w/e, b/c i dont know whats going on....
