O.P. MSN 7.5 Crashing...
I have been using MSN messanger for a while, and now about 15 sec after i sign in it will crash, with the send to microsoft error, "This program has encountered an error and needs to close. We are sorry for your inconvinience." I Uninstalled Plus!, still an error, I reinstalled bare 7.5, still the stupid error! It seems that if I close the contact window it doesn't error, but it then crashes if i open it again. And if I just leave it up, it will just crash eventually...This very annoying ....
I have no patches, etc. installed (I HAD some MSN Plus! Stuff installed, but I uninstalled Plus! so it shouldn't matter), and I can run Windows Messanger and other IM programs fine, but i can't run the Windows Live Beta....

RE: MSN 7.5 Crashing...
I'm sorry but your post is confusing me. Title says MSN 7.5 crashing then later you say you can't run Windows Live Beta. Now what is crashing?
I suggest you do the following:
- uninstall whatever you have installed at the moment...be it WLM or MSN 7.5
- reboot
- remove all folders in program files folder pointing towards MSN Messenger aswell as C:\Documents and Settings\<username windows account>\Application Data\Microsoft\MSN Messenger
- since you uninstalled Plus! (through add/remove programs i hope) you can delete the Messenger Plus! folder aswell
- redownload and reinstall the messenger version you wish to use
- redownload and reinstall Plus! if you wish to do so.
If after this it is still crashing can you post a screenshot of the errormessage (and a screenshot of the detailed errorreport if there is one...you can go to it by clicking on "more info" or something of the likes in the error pop up)?

Okay, the stuff it sends is:
AppName: msnmsgr.exe AppVer: 7.5.324.0 ModName: ieframe.dll
ModVer: 7.0.5346.5 Offset: 000c3094
A screenshot:
And I meant that both programs crash like this, I tried them both...which is wierd, because Windows Messanger doesn't. I'm still working with 7.5.

RE: MSN 7.5 Crashing...
This error is (seems to be) caused by IE7, no matter how many times you reinstall MSN Messenger it isn't gonna help. Do you happen to have that installed?
If yes, for now i advice you to uninstall IE7...i will have a look around if another solution to that problem is to be found anywhere yet (no such luck sofar...).

You're welcome
I wish there was another solution for this problem, but i did not succeed in finding one...i guess IE7 is still too new (beta/buggy).

I have the same problem, yet i have Internet Explorer 6.0.2600.000. I have already posted my problem in this thread, Here, with no response that has helped. If anyone can help me with this issue, i would appreciate it.
Thanks.

I'll answer here as this thread is active.
When you get the crash dialog, click 'What does this error report contain?', and post the module name that's causing the issue.

<offtopic>
Since you're on XP, you're able to save in PNG from paint: it makes image files so much smaller Plus, yours are the only bitmaps I've seen that render from the bottom.

Hmm, that's a crash in the C++ Runtime Library. Try running Windows Update, and if that doesn't solve the problem, then I'm not sure of another fix. I can't find the C++ Runtime v7.1, but here's a link to 8.0. You never know, it may work.
