O.P. Huh?  WEP KEY
Hello, I have enocuntered some problems (my friend lets say). A couple of days ago, some one from rogers came to fix my internet connnection because it was slow. When they were done, I found that they put a WEP on the connection. So when trying to connect from a different laptop, it is automatic there.  On my pocket pc, or PSP, or other connections, i cant connect because i dont know the WEP. On my default computer, i am connected by LOCAL AREA CONNECTION, and there is no sign of a router present on my computer, but i am connected to the router, but for somereason my computer only finds my modem. How can i find my WEP? Even though im connected by local area connection, and what do i need to do to connect to my router physcally instead of the modem. ----

From my friend.

RE: WEP KEY
configure the router, google for its ip and enter it into your browser (usually 192.168.*.*)

you also need to know the log in information. then in the preferences change/remove the wep key. i suggest just changing it because u dont want random people connecting to it and surfing child porn.

RE: WEP KEY
if you are connected to the lan, go to your browser and type in the ip thats used by your router, you dont need to be connected to the internet to configure it.

and is the setup pc > router > modem?

RE: WEP KEY
I was jst thinking...would it not be easier to reset the modem/router to default settings? and then configure it the way you want?
