I know theres email addresses you can add that have the bible or Quran on them but can anyone send me the actual script? Id like it for my students please!

There isn't a script that's been made for the bible. I'm guessing it would be pretty hard considering how much text it contains?

probably would be, but i dont mind putting in the effort but would just need the script to search and post up texts when users asked.

Ty for ur opinion but considering christianity/islam make up more than 2/5ths of the world population it would be a useful script!

roflmao - yes im aware as i indicated in my intial post, i would just like the script for it ^_^

I started making this before my pc died. You can use the LDS (mormon) website and just use the xmlhttp object to download each page. The hardest part is going through it all and extracting the verse/chapter text from the html and then adding all the possible books, chapters and verses. I got to about the end of exodus

I'm pretty sure you can get both the Quran and the Christian Bible in TXT format, wouldn't that be easier to parse? If you search really hard you might even find it in some DB/XML type of form.

EDIT:Quick search showed sacred-texts.com that seems to provide full versions that look like the can be indexed pretty easy:

Thanks for your replies although the problem isnt really finding the actual texts to put in, rather just the actual .js script that would call up the file and verses through commands and perform searches
