And yyyy-mm-dd is the International format. It allows folders and files to be dated, and a simple ASCII sort also sorts chronologically.

Exactly, and it's not one which we can pick in our Options, neither is d/m/yy (Australian). ISO format at least should be added.

I've seen a board system that lets you make your own format, maybe that could be added optionally.

There's already four options with similar formats. Please don't tell me the leading zeros of the options that are there are what you're complaining about.
