Basically, within the Messenger contact list, I can see my nickname in the top bit, and I see everyone else's nicknames, but when I add myself to the list, it only shows my name, as set in my Windows Live profile.  Anyone not using 2011 can still see my nickname as normal.  Anyone else noticed this?

In WLM 2009 I can see the nicknames of people. Although for some of the contacts their real name is showing (but that might be because their nickname is also set as their real name, it's not necessarily because of the new name rules in Windows Live).

On my main account, I have added myself since a very long time (long before this whole nickname vs. real name change in Windows Live) and I still see the nickname in the contact list.

On another account which hadn't myself in the contactlist before, when I add myself, I also see the nickname.

I see myself with my nickname when using Messenger 2009, but I've been in my own list since the MSN Messenger times too.

Just tried a different Messenger account, and I can see my nickname fine on there.  I have had myself on my contact list for a while, but it's only recently (a couple of weeks, maybe) that I've noticed it displaying my real name.

Then again...  just deleted and re-added myself to the list and I see my name again.    Ah well.
