locking/pw protecting windows files

O.P. locking/pw protecting windows files
hi, i donno if anyone can help me out... but i was wondering if anyone knew how to put pass words on windows files.(like the ones you save chat logs and stuff in) if so id really like to know, and does it have to do with ziping it thanks

well if u are on ur own windows account and these files are in your documents you can set it so only you can access ur documents by:
right clicking on ur username (C:\Documents and Settings\username)
then select properties > sharing > and tick keep this folder private

thread i made with old account about this.
I made a thread about this with my old account, check it out if you like.


and as i said i found it in that thread, this is the program i used http://www.tropsoft.com/pcsecurity/ It worked well for me.

nope, no user name, we share a account, were still on windows 98, blah
