O.P. Maximizing the network utilization
I'd like to know how to maximize the network utilization on my computer.
I did some searches but had no luck.

There are 4 computers in my house, and all are connected to a router.
We have a cable connection. The speed shows 100Mbps.

But, on my computer, I see that the network utilization never reaches its maximal utilization. The max. utilization when I am downloading something is 3%.

RE: Maximizing the network utilization
What type of internet connection do you have? I don't think you have a 100 Mbit internetconnection. If you have a 2 or 3 Mbit internet connection (max download speed around 240 kbps (2Mbit)/ 370 kbps (3Mbit)) and you download with max speed it is exactly 2 / 3% of your maximum network connection (100 Mbit). So probably you have a 3 Mbit internet connection. The only way to get max network utilization is by copying large files from one computer to another in your network.

RE: Maximizing the network utilization
Your download is limited to the speed of your WAN Modem, not limited by your internal network which is 100MBit/s.
Your WAN modem is probably around 4 - 6 Mbps, so that's as fast as you'll ever be able to download from internet. The 100MBit/s is the speed at which you can transfer data over your internal (LAN) network only.
