My 8-year-old sister has just learned to use powerpoint and google image search, and is using it to make a christmas card for her dad. Harmless enough, you'd think.  Just let her get on with it, she can manage herself. Wrong, apparently. She searched for holly, and on the first page was a topless chick with holly over her nipples, and a couple of other girls named Holly obediently bending over in tiny skirts. The search for elves returned more hentai cartoons than pals of santa. The first set of results for angels wasn't much better. This was with Moderate SafeSearch turned on.

Has the internet become twisted beyond being worth exposing to our children?  Thoughts...

go to google and change your preferences, so that u use "Use strict filtering (Filter both explicit text and explicit images)" and u will have no problem

Hmm... no boobies there. I wonder why moderate doesn't block it, while strict does.

Some months ago there was a song in a chilean tv show for kids called "doggy style" (the song was pretty cool tbh, it was about a guy who had lots of dogs and stuff ). Well, guess what happened when kids searched for it in google .

To be honest, this world is getting quite messed up constantly, but if you would have had Safesearch on, this wouldn't have happened, safe-search always helps when kids are around mate .

So Fluggy_Lobster.... how many questions did your sis ask about those images to your parents and you. 

bit dumb to leave a 8 year old alone on the computer using the internet in the first place without supervision IMO

  call me an idiot but there are to many Peadophiles on the internet etc to allow a Kid alone on the intenet to chat let alone surf the net alone looking for information of that age, without being supervised
