To all,
Thanks for the congrats, but I'm fairly sure that poor old mum deserves them more than I, so I shall pass on your celebratory words to her tomorrow.
Traxor,
Be careful. Having kids gets expensive, even for those people who don't have the children (birthdays, christmas, etc...)
John Anderton,
Yep, all mine (well, half mine
)
GiantSpider,
Cheers. 4th kiddie that we've got, but this is the first girl, so it's a whole new ball game with this one (or so I've been told).
Paperless,
I thank you for your honesty about the name. You're correct that it may not be to everyones taste, but as long as she doesn't grow up resenting us for naming her as we did, we'll be happy
Anubis,
I feel so damn shattered at the moment from the events of the day that I can only guess that this is as tired as giving birth would have been.
Paperless [again],
You owe me for a new monitor as I sprayed coffee over the other one when I saw this
Traxor [again],
Y not I, and we were calling 'bump' "her" for several months, and calling her by her name for the past two weeks.
AndreY,
Cheers. We had quite a lot of leftover Christmas 'drink' before this. Not anymore
Titty,
Thanks. The doctors, etc... that have seen her are happy with her weight and size, the only thing is that she is like a damn doormouse right now. Trying to wake her up is almost impossible. Maybe you'll get some open-eyed pictures around June/July when she comes out of hibernation
Sunshine,
Don't worry. As I said to Titty, she is next to impossible to wake up right now. I'm betting that after she's slept off the exertion of being born, we won't be able to get her to sit still for more than 2 seconds at a time.
Tochjo,
What a great picture, and thanks as well.
AndreY [again],
We knew quite a while ago that "it" was a "she", so it made picking a name only half a difficult (no male names to work through
) I think the original decision was to call her Megan, but one of the kids in my oldest lads class had a baby sister which his mum called Megan, so next on the "names we want" list was Caitlyn. Debbie (tired mum in hospital) originally spotted it and liked it, but I was pondering about it for a few weeks.
Jchichuv,
She had her eyes open and was looking around within five minutes of being born and taking in all these new sights and sounds (and smells, but we won't venture into that area
). After about the first hour of being in the outside world, I guess she just figured that she had plenty of time to see it all tomorrow, and promptly fell asleep for the duration of the afternoon. AFAIK she's still asleep, so mum might actually get some rest.
