O.P. Postifying bio's?
WDZ, could we have the bio's postified? Sometimes one may add links or whatever formatting and it looks bad unformatted.
I'm not sure if there's a risk in allowing it, but I don't think so.

Is it possible?

I dont think WDZ is too lazy to do it, the suggestion has probably not been posted before and so he doesnt know that it needs to be fixed. Remember that WDZ didnt make the forum, and the version he has is quite an old version, considering this is RC2 and the latest version is RC4.

Who's talking about... versions... This can't be called myBB anymore, so to say. :P

However, I know it's *technically* possible to do it (function 'postify', etc), but I was wondering if it could be possible to have it done
So, hope there's no problem. (I'd like to put some links to my projects and such stuff :P)

yes it can, most of the core code is still myBB stuff, i.e. user sessions, topic posting, permissions etc... all the stuff that make it a forum. WDZ has just added hacks to the forum to make it even cooler.

but back to the point: having bbcode in the bio would be cool (Y)

When it makes no sense to update because of the number of modifications (ie, when it's better that you yourself fix the bugs and add all new things) the one can say it's actually myBB WDZ-mod and so it will stay. I was exaggerating in saying 'no myBB anymore', but I'm not completely wrong in the end, in fact myBB can be upgraded without many porting problems. This version actually can't really without some weeks of work to re mod everything...

RE: Postifying bio's?
There are some things that should simply be plain text, and the bio is one of them. You say it "looks bad unformatted" but the opposite could be true if colors, fonts, big images, etc. were allowed. Remember that we're talking about a very small text field, like half the size of a signature.

It's kinda the same issue as the reputation comments. In that case, I decided to allow only certain smilies.

This is RC2, as you might have known if you had read the freaking thread. Other than that, there's no 'gold' in the preior versions. Gold is the upcoming final upgrade (some might call it 1.0 final).

And the differences are features and security measures. http://www.mybboard.com

For infomation like that, try looking at the bottom of every page :p

As for the fact that  this forum isn't MyBB anymore, well I can really understand that. Stand alone MyBB is no where as near as good as here, you really notice the difference...
