Well, on the style I have this forum set to, under posts it says:

pm msg

But PM stands for Private Message and msg for Message, so if you read it correct it, says:

Private Message Message

I don't know if this has been pointed out before or not, but it doesn't really make sense to me. Maybe you ought to change it to just PM or Pvt Msg.

It has been discussed a few times before.  Basically, as long as people know what it means it doesn't really need to be changed.

I think the text is designed for maximum understanding and clarity, and minimum size. Don't read it as "private message message," but rather just "pm message." The type of message is "pm," or "private message."

Yea, but it is still annoying - for m anyway. Englaish is my best subject, and home language, and if something doesn't seem right to me, grammaticaly and more, it just annoys me.

Well, you'd better learn to live with that, because this forum is full of people who don't write perfectly.

I also like to see good English usage, but that button doesn't bother me AT ALL.

In this case pm is used like one word, one verb.. like "i private messaged you yesterday.."

I can see what she's saying, but following the thread that I started quite a while back, I've learned to live with it, its not really that much of a problem, if it hasn't been mentioned for such a long time, its the minority that notice it and its an even smaller amount that it annoys...

You could hover over the button for a tooltip...

Of course, most of the buttons don't have tooltips.
