i just installed windows service pack 2, and now when i try to open internet explorer, it simply closes, and teh exact same thing happens with MSN(except it does it once i've loged in, and only for one of my accounts sofar)

please help

Did you install the SP2 over an existing XP installation? Is this happening just since you installed the SP2?

yes, i have had XP since just after christmas and its worked fine, but i couldn't download the SP2, so i ordered the CD, it got here today, and i just installed it like 20 mintues ago, and when i restarted, it said repairing MSN 7, i let it do that, and nether MSN or internet explorer works

You can remove SP2 by going to Add/Remove Software, but are you sure you don't have a virus or something?

its a virus, now my whole computer is practicaly junk,
-i can't do anyt system changes,
- i can't access system restore
- i can't even see any apps in the task bar
- i'm about ready to throw this out the window

i can't even figure out how to format, and i'm worried i won't be able to reinstall window, i just tryed and it wouldn't accept my key

Try to reformat it from a friends cd or someone elses.

i bet you could find a key if you looked for it

Run your anti-virus software. If you have software that can run on bootup - use that.

Yeah, you should format and make a clean install of Windows. Do you have the Windows CD? You can boot from the CD, format and install. If you don't have the key, contact the store from where you bought your PC.

run your pc in safe mode and then do a virus scan
