Okay, I have to end my curiousity here...

Some of my contacts have big emoticon like:


I tried to send emoticons bigger than 19*19 pixels (i.e. ) and ended up with :spam: of size 19*19 pixels.

I know for sure that all contacts don't have any add-ons/patches whatsoever.

Do I miss something here?

You're allowed large animated emoticons default with MSN Messenger 7.x. But you aren't allowed still emoticons of any size, they have to be 19x19, unless you are using StuffPlug. Only people with stuffplug can see the full sized image though.

Is there a way to trick the client so it thinks that still emoticons are animated?

well, you could use a .gif animator and make it with a load of duplicate  frames on a loop and see if that works...

Another question:
I tried to add some emoticons in My Emoticons, but I have some problem with adding.
I couldn't add , or , but I could add
It complained that the image files were not valid.

Any explanation?
In other words, what are the criteria of valid image files?
