The first one obviously supports three 256MB modules and the second one supports 3 512MB modules and both support ECC. That's why I think the memory module could be bad...
And before somebody says "hey, neither are the 7AJA0"... well, couldn't find it on Chaintech's website and here's a
review for a "7AJA" that shows similar specs of the "7AJA2". The link provided by rix is for a "7AJA" too and that's similar to the "7AJA2E"... blah, both support 256MB and ECC O_o
