My grandparents have windows 98 and a digital camera, they keep moaninga t me because they can't find their photos (their digital camera didn't come with any decent software to extract the pictures so have to do it manually [which is incredibly annoying for them as they cannot really use a pc anyway and annoying for me because i have to spend my time over there just dragging folders from their camera over to their My pictures folder ¬_¬

So i've wrote them a simple tutorial to get photos off (which they can do HURRAH!) but now they are moanign at me because they can't find their photos


Anyone know of a picture manager taht will find all their photos and sort them into folders by date took?

preferably simple to use and will import from their minolta camera also

try downloading picasa from google, it's a pretty good software.

Picasa needs Windows 2000 or XP, which I guess Fukafly knows, hence asking here for alternates...

can it do everything they need

eg automatic sorting of photos on hard drive, and pulling pictures from their camera into sorted folders?

It's just a older version, so it should have all features. Try it out on your own computer first or something.

i dont think that he uses win98 ...

very true mr hardcore i stopped using 98 in the first week xp came out and i got my own computer

however on mine it does show an import function which works from my camera (which has a similar folder structure to my grandparents so should be ok) sorting and viewing of loads of different file types is nice indeed but i can't see a function to 'actually' sort the files and folders out into dates from something like DC103393874
