theres no difference if WLM is open during the installation due to the installer will automatically kill the WLM process

Go to:

Start -> Control Panel -> Add or Remove Programs, select Windows Live Messenger and hit Change. Then repair. Reboot and see if it fixes the problem.

yeah.. i just did that.  Still doesn't work : /

I have verizon DSL wit MSN features.. and i dunno if that affects this or not.  But yeah.  Is it just my computer or internet is messed up?

So.. what do I do now??  I'm glad u guys r replying in trying to help me.. but i still can't open WLM! : /

Uninstall Messenger Plus! Live by going to
Start > Control Panel > Add/Remove Programs > Messenger Plus! Live > Click Remove

Once it is uninstalled try and open Windows Live Messenger. Can you open it? If so now uninstall Windows Live Messenger (same way you did it for Messenger Plus! Live).

Once this is uninstalled go to Start > My Computer > C Drive > Program Files

Delete both Windows Live Messenger folder and Messenger Plus! Live folder. Once these are removed downloaded and install Windows Live Messenger first then Messenger Plus! Live.

Thanks!  I'm gonna try that.  But I have a question... if i uninstall WLM, will i lose everything?  Like will i lose my font color, smileys, winks and all that??
