O.P. Windows won't start up
Well, the other day my CPU blew up, so my dad went and got me a new one, the computer boots up, but when windows loads, right before it gets to the login screen, the computer totally shuts off.
Safe mode doesn't work, tried reinstalling, I just get an error message saying that my computer is shutting down, and I also tried to install XP, but that one just gets the same error message.
Was wondering if anyone could tell me what's happening and possibly a solution.

You need to reinstall windows... Windows is 'custom installed' to your specs
<shawnz> if you buy a new CPU, windows won't boot anymore <shawnz> well, if you buy a radically different one

Could have taken your motherboard with it to.

Maybe, but I'm sure he would have noticed a big black mark (or even a small black mark) on the surface while he was installing the new CPU. Of course that would mean that it LITERALLY "blew up" instead of the metaphorical use of the phrase.

It's not necessary that if it's blown up that it's noticeable, some chips on the motherboard could've got fried but not exploded.
