Well after a lot of hard work I have finally completed the Windows Aero Messenger skin for WLM 8.1.

THIS SKIN WILL NOT WORK ON WLM 8.5 SO DON'T ASK

This skin features an even more brushed up feel than Vista Live Messenger and uses an advanced colorization system which makes color variations of any theme look really good.

A lot of work has been put into this theme so I hope everyone enjoys this release.

Normally I would have released this under an installer patcher system but this time around everyone was too busy with their own things that I decided to release the skin in raw DLL format before WLM 8.5 Final comes out and the skin becomes obsolete.

6 Themes are included:

Aero Basic
Aero Light
Aero Dark
360 Revolution
Luna Evolution
Zune Remixed

Well now for some announcements, I am entering the home stretch of my university degree and things are starting to really move for me right now so as of now I am taking a break from skinning.

This may be a permanent thing as I have no idea how things are going to be for me when WLM 8.5 gets put out the door. I have noticed a slight fall in the WLM skinning area lately and I'm hoping it doesn't stay that way.

Anyway yeah this might be my final release ever so enjoy it and support it by adding it to your favourites on deviantArt (if you are a member) and telling other people about it to make WLM skinning more known.

I'm glad it's only 8.1. 8.5 is beta and is bound to change again, 8.1 is also much more commonly used, I can't stand the new beta to be honest .

ipab offered to help out with the skin and make an installer, but i saw that I was running out of time before my uni semester began so I went solo on it to get it moving since ipab was a bit busy with life.

This skin is based off the ideas that we both had for the version of WAM that we scrapped for 8.0 so he has helped in getting the idea solid. He has the installer resources anyway so if he has time he can make the installer, if not its no big deal I'll respect his choices.

Stian has also played a small role in this skin with a few of his ideas as well as the approach I was going to take to get the colorization feature working the way it did.

Great, I'll make a news post about it when I've got time (then again, I've got a whole list of those) .
