omg! i downloaded the skin that i want, and wen i click the select a different skin button it shows the new skin, but its grey and it says its unable to apply.... how am i gonna fix it? probably theres something wrong with the version of my msn? pleasy tell me how to solve this problem

The grey color indicates the skin is not compatible with your version of Live Messenger. Most currently released skins only work on Live Messenger 8.5x, which is the latest public release, you can get this version at the official site: http://get.live.com/messenger/

so i just download and install that thing and the skin will work?

Yes if the skin is for 8.5
